LASK will have to do without central defender Andres Andrade for the foreseeable future. The 25-year-old suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a friendly international match with Panama.

Andrade sustained the injury during preparations with Panama for the upcoming Copa America in a friendly match against the Galician national team on May 31. The defender then returned to Linz and underwent an MRI. The diagnosis from LASK team doctor Dr. Rainer Hochgatterer confirmed a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, which will require surgical treatment.

The Panamanian played a total of 40 competitive matches for LASK in the past season, as well as eight appearances for his national team in the CONCACAF Nations League. He was scheduled to compete with Panama in the Copa America in the United States in a few weeks.

Andres had an outstanding season. He was a crucial constant in our game and provided enormous stability to our defense. This injury is a significant blow for us, but we are firmly convinced that he will manage his way back very well. He will, of course, receive all forms of support from us.
