LASK celebrates a successful competitive debut with a 4–0 victory over Wiener Sport-Club. Four goals within 16 minutes pave the way to the second round of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup. Samuel Adeniran scores twice, while Andres Andrade and Christoph Lang each add a goal.

Competitive Opener, Cup Match, Hohe Warte, a Football Treat – or simply: Wiener Sport-Club vs. LASK.

After a ten-minute feeling-out phase, the Linz-based Athletiker kicked into high gear: Moses Usor delivered a precise cross to the onrushing Samuel Adeniran, who gratefully headed in from close range to make it 1–0 (12’). The second goal came shortly after, with LASK debutant Lukas Kacavenda playing a pinpoint pass to Moses Usor. Usor’s shot struck the post, but the rebound fell to Andres Andrade, who made it 2–0 (15’).

The Athletiker took control of the match, allowing the Viennese side little time on the ball or space to play. The third goal followed logically: after a Sport-Club corner, LASK countered swiftly. Kasper Jørgensen found Moses Usor at the far post, who laid the ball off to Christoph Lang. Lang turned and fired home to make it 3–0 (22’). Just five minutes later came goal number four. Jørgensen weaved past two defenders with an elegant spin and found Adeniran in the center – 4–0 (27’).

LASK then eased off their attacking intensity and went into the locker room at Hohe Warte with a commanding four-goal lead.

No Goals in the Second Half

LASK began the second half unchanged and made an early statement with a curling effort from Usor. After an hour, LASK head coach Sagres Sacramento substituted vice-captain Horvath and the lively Moses Usor, bringing on Art Smakaj and Krystof Daněk. Andres Andrade took over the captain’s armband.

Christoph Lang had the fifth goal on his foot but narrowly missed the target from the edge of the box (68’). A Jørgensen volley after a corner also caused a stir, but was saved (74’). The game gradually lost pace, with LASK maintaining calm possession. The fifth goal nearly came again: Lang struck from close range, but Sport-Club keeper Hotop made an impressive save (85’). Just before the final whistle, he also parried a powerful volley from Flecker (90’).

The match ended 4–0 – with this win, LASK returns to Linz and advances to the second round of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup.
