Cisse to Join Premier League in Summer 2026

From LASK to the Premier League: The Linz club has reached an agreement with English European competition qualifiers Aston Villa on the transfer of Modou Keba Cisse. The 19-year-old Senegalese signed a pre-contract with the Birmingham-based club and will be transferred on July 1, 2026. This ensures that Cisse will continue to play for the Athletiker in the upcoming season.

Cisse attracted the attention of numerous international top clubs, including Aston Villa, with his strong performances in the 15 competitive appearances he made for LASK's first team last season. The traditional club from Birmingham finished sixth in the past season and will compete in this year’s UEFA Europa League.

The agreement with the English club includes a pre-contract that is already in effect; Cisse will be transferred to Aston Villa on July 1, 2026. Until then, the Senegalese will continue to play for the Athletiker.

Cisse joined the LASK amateurs in the summer of 2024 from Spanish club Real Ávila. He made his professional debut in the Austrian Cup in the fall and became a regular starter for LASK in the following spring, even scoring one goal.
