After six rounds, LASK still holds the maximum number of points in the Qualification Group of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga. The Athletiker will look to extend this run in Round 29, when they face WSG Tirol at Innsbruck’s Tivoli Stadium on Saturday (5:00 PM, live on Sky Sport Austria).

Two matches, 10 goals scored and only 1 conceded – that’s the impressive record from LASK’s first two games under interim head coach Maximilian Ritscher. The last time LASK managed to score ten or more goals across two consecutive top-flight matches was back in March 1960, with a 6–3 win over Simmering followed by a 5–4 victory against Krems. The team now aims to bring this rediscovered attacking power back onto the pitch at the Tivoli, ideally extending their winning streak to seven matches – a feat last achieved in 2019.

Since last Saturday’s emphatic 6–0 win over Austria Klagenfurt, LASK have secured first place in the Qualification Group. With the European play-off semi-final set to take place on May 26 at the Raiffeisen Arena, the team is determined to maintain intensity and carry the momentum from recent performances. “We want to approach it with the highest level of professionalism – I won’t accept anything less. It’s also a matter of respect towards the other teams in the league,” emphasized interim coach Ritscher shortly after the home win against Klagenfurt.

LASK Unbeaten in Six Consecutive Matches Against Tirol

WSG Tirol currently sit third in the Qualification Group with 16 points. Their final round campaign so far includes two wins (against Austria Klagenfurt and SCR Altach), one draw, and three losses. In the reverse fixture two weeks ago at the Raiffeisen Arena, LASK secured a 2–0 win thanks to goals from Christoph Lang and Robert Zulj. The Linz side also came out on top in the season’s other two meetings — both 2–1 victories, in March at home and in October in Innsbruck — meaning LASK are now unbeaten in six consecutive matches against WSG Tirol.

A noteworthy detail: In all three season matchups with Tirol, LASK’s expected goals (xG) values — 2.41, 2.83, and 2.04 — were significantly above their season average of 1.51. The same trend held true in their recent matches against Klagenfurt, where xG values reached 2.4 and 2.79. Meanwhile, Maximilian Entrup has been in fine form, scoring four goals in the last four rounds, making him the second-highest scorer of the current Bundesliga season.

We want to approach the remaining four rounds in the Qualification Group with the highest level of professionalism. Our goal is to build on the performance we showed in the recent home match against Klagenfurt. We’re expecting an opponent with a very well-structured style of play who will push us to our limits. We need to be as well prepared for that as possible.
