Jerome Boateng and LASK have mutually agreed to terminate the existing contract with immediate effect. The 36-year-old central defender is leaving the club with immediate effect.

Boateng joined LASK last year and made a total of 14 competitive appearances for the Black-and-Whites during that time. Although the 2014 World Cup winner was repeatedly hampered by injuries, he was a valued leader thanks to his international experience, both on the pitch and in the dressing room. The younger players in particular were able to benefit from his support in their development.

Now, Boateng and LASK have mutually agreed to an immediate termination of the contract, which had originally been set to run until the summer of 2026.

Throughout his time at LASK, Jerome always conducted himself professionally and did everything he could to help the team with his experience. In particular, he played an important role for our young players by fully supporting and encouraging them. For that, we would like to sincerely thank him. We wish Jerome all the best and much success for his next steps.

Dino Buric, Sporting Director

I would like to thank LASK for their trust and the time we shared here in Linz. It was an enriching experience to work in a new environment once again. Now the right time has come for me to start a new chapter. I will announce soon which new challenges – both sporting and personal – lie ahead of me. I wish LASK all the best and much success for the future.
