LASK aims for fourth win on the bounce
With a perfect record from the first three rounds of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga championship group, LASK are heading into Friday evening’s home match (7:30 PM, live on Sky Sport Austria) at the Raiffeisen Arena against WSG Tirol aiming for their fourth consecutive victory.
LASK have been in fine form in the Qualification Group so far, winning all three matches against Altach, GAK, and Hartberg. Remarkably, they remain the only team in the final round yet to concede a goal. Should they manage another win against WSG Tirol, it would mark the first time since August 2022 that the Athletiker have celebrated four league victories in a row. Achieving this feat without conceding would be even more historic—something the Linz side have managed only three times in Austria’s top flight: in autumn 1961, spring 1985, and most recently in autumn 2019, when they beat Altach (1–0), Austria Wien (2–0), Admira (1–0), and Tirol (2–0).
Following last week’s 1–0 away win, courtesy of a decisive goal from Maximilian Entrup, LASK currently hold an eight-point lead over closest challengers TSV Hartberg. WSG Tirol, on the other hand, climbed to third place after a thrilling 5–3 win over Austria Klagenfurt. The Tyroleans had started the Qualification Group with a goalless draw at GAK, followed by a 1–3 home defeat to Hartberg. “WSG are a good side, and we need to prepare well for this challenge,” said Samuel Adeniran, whose team has remained unbeaten in eight of their nine Bundesliga matches this calendar year. “It’s going to be a tricky game, but I’m confident we have the quality to beat any opponent.”
Unbeaten in five Matches against WSG
LASK also boast a small unbeaten streak in recent meetings with WSG Tirol. The Black-and-Whites are undefeated in their last five league encounters with the Tyroleans, having won each of the last three: a 2–1 away victory in autumn, followed by two narrow home wins at the Raiffeisen Arena—1–0 in November 2023 and 2–1 earlier this March. In the latter, Robert Zulj—currently the team’s top provider with five assists—secured the win with a stoppage-time header. For this upcoming clash, Melayro Bogarde returns to the LASK squad after serving a suspension, while WSG will be without Matthäus Taferner, who remains sidelined following a red card in their match against Hartberg.

We had to put in a lot of effort for all three of our wins so far, and it won’t be any different against WSG Tirol. We need to keep them under constant pressure and challenge them throughout the match.
