The international break is over, and the next intense block of matches is approaching: With the away game in the 10th round on Sunday (2:30 PM, live on Sky Sport Austria) against WSG Tirol, LASK continues its season in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga. This also marks the kickoff for three consecutive weeks of English matches.

No fewer than seven competitive matches await the athletes until the next break in mid-November. In addition to the league matches in Tirol, against SK Sturm, TSV Hartberg, and away at SCR Altach, the schedule for the black-and-whites also includes fixtures in the UEFA Conference League against Olimpija Ljubljana and Cercle Brugge, as well as in the ÖFB Cup against ASK Voitsberg.

At the Tivoli Stadium in Innsbruck, head coach Markus Schopp's team, which has worked hard on tactical and physical aspects during the international break, aims to carry the momentum from their recent upward trend into this match. In their last five competitive matches, the Linzers remained unbeaten with three wins and two draws, scoring a total of 15 goals during this period. Most recently, goalkeeper Jörg Siebenhandl and his teammates achieved their first clean sheet in the Bundesliga during their third win of the season against Austria Klagenfurt (4-0). "There has definitely been an improvement. The results were definitely better than before, and we want to continue this positive trend in the coming weeks," said the 34-year-old goalkeeper, reflecting on their recent performances.

Unbeaten in Three Encounters

The Tyroleans have also recorded some impressive results recently. In their last four Bundesliga matches, trainer Philipp Semlic's team has remained unbeaten three times, including a notable 3-1 away victory against Wolfsberger AC. For LASK, encounters with the western Austrians have resulted in points gain in their last three consecutive meetings: in November 2023, they celebrated a 1-0 home victory, while prior to that, they secured one point with a 1-1 draw and three points with a 3-2 win in Innsbruck.

In the overall record, LASK has the upper hand, having won 18 out of 39 encounters, while the two clubs have drawn 11 times. In the top league, nine of the 20 matches ended with a victory for the black-and-whites, while seven times the points were shared. The Linzers currently hold second place in the season ranking for the most shots after high ball recoveries, with a total of 14 shots resulting from 50 such recoveries.

In addition to Tobias Lawal, Andres Andrade, and Moses Usor, LASK will also be without Rene Renner. The left-back used the international break to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his ankle and will not be available for the time being.

We are up against an opponent that gained confidence from their results before the international break. Nevertheless, we are going there with the clear intention of playing a good match and taking as many points as possible. Tirol plays very flexibly and boldly in possession as well as defensively, showing a clear imprint of the coach's philosophy in many phases of the game. We need to be well-prepared and bring our own style of play onto the pitch.
